Revision: October, 11th, 2001
This diet profile is very restrictive and includes all foods that are completely safe to eat..
Please note, that when you've just started the SCDiet, you can't eat the nuts or the salads...
You can only digest cooked vegetables at that time.
I'm sure most people (when on the SCDiet for at least some months) should be able to handle the foods on this list..
So, in fact, this diet is for people who suffer from diabetes or hypoglycemia besides Crohn's disease.
I am very intolerant to many foods. More than most people, I can't tolerate any foods that
contain FOS or sulfurs or carbohydrates.. I think it's because there are still some yeasts or bacteria
in my intestines, that just won't go away.. Most people can, however, eat a much larger variety of foods, which includes leek, onions, garlic, almonds.
It's nice to know that the diet shown below is very safe and should work for the most food-intolerant people.
When you're not as food-intolerant as I am, you should try more types of meat, vegetables and nuts to see if you can handle those..

How to bake:
Use olive oil. Use some extra oil to make sure you get enough fat.
That's neccessary because else your body will start to use it's own muscles
for fuel.
This is the way I bake normally:
I first heat the pan, then I put in the sliced meat and bake it in a couple
of minutes.
Next, I put in the (frozen) vegetables (300-450 grams) and I add a cup of cooking/hot
water.
I turn up the fire. Next I wait until the water is all gone (takes about 10
minutes). Then I add some more oil and bake it for a few more minutes (turn
down the fire, because else the veggies will turn black). I often use the curry,
the cayenne pepper and some salt to spice it. Sometimes I also add half an (sliced)
onion (before adding the water+vegetables).
This way, I can cook a single-pan lunch/diner in about 10-20 minutes.
Extra: Sleep is very important:
I've also made a construction above my bed, that completely inhibits all light
from reaching my head.
This way, my melatonin production at night is really high..
I think this is why I sleep so well and this contributes to my health too I
think..
What do I drink
I forgot to mention what I drink..
I only drink water.. I drink more than 2-3 liters a day I think..
( I sometimes drink licorice-tea. Licorice changes cortisol metabolism in such a way that it helps for hypoglycemia.
The Reward
The reward is impressive..
When somebody looks at me, he sees a healthy man.. That's the way I feel too..
I can go to parties until it starts to turn light again without a problem..
I sleep really good..
I feel energetic, I can play tennis, my concentration is very good again, I
don't feel anxious, panicked, depressed anymore
My general mood is very good/happy..
Sometimes in the morning I can still feel a very mild brainfog (nothing compared
to before this diet).. But it goes away really quickly..
Besides all the symptoms I have listed on my website, also the following two
symptoms have disappeared now:
Dandruf and dry skin problems are both gone now ! I really think my cold hands
problem is also diminishing, but I'll have to wait for next winter to make sure.
